when it rains, it pours :)

You know, sometimes Belgium doesn’t seem that far away at all, especially when you look outside and its rainy and gray…
Luckily that doesn’t happen too often in Sydney, but when it does, it can look something like this, less than 2 km of where we live.
Only a week later I received similar pictures from my [...]

Commute

What is black and white and “red” all over?*

We like parties and we like dressing up…  so we loooooove dress up parties!
Can you guess who we are?

*Answer: a newspaper, apparently this is a popular aussie children’s joke…

Lest we forget

The most remote location in the world

Ilse and I assumed Sydney to be pretty remote… However, when you take a look at the map below, it is evident it can get worse, much worse. The map shows the number of days it would take from a certain location to reach the nearest city (50,000+ inhabitants), without using air travel.
The most remote [...]

Fancy some?

It’s a little known fact that Aussie chocolate is nothing to write home about. No offense, but Belgian chocolate is simply the best (Switzerland? where? what?).   Which is why we’ve asked every Belgian visitor to bring some (especially pralines and pim’s cookies, hint hint).
But today we made a big discovery… Whittaker’s toasted coconut slabs!

Turns out [...]

home sweet (new) home

19.04.09 | written by jilske | 3 Comments

Turns out after the last post some of you didn’t know yet we had moved (again).  Having moved 4 times in the last 5 years, I think we will enjoy staying put for a while, maybe even more than a year - who knows.
If you are interested, this is what our new crib looks like [...]

New house, new job and a little bit homesick

02.04.09 | written by jilske | 1 Comment

As they say, all good things come in 3?
Unfortunately it also makes for lack of time and feeling guilty while being thrown in the deep end again.
Though part of the ‘new’ challenge is enjoyable: shaking old habits, breaking boundaries and learning each step of the way - I do wish I could take a time-out [...]

De eerste werkdag in Sydney

23.03.09 | written by Bram | 1 Comment

Hallo!
