Celebration

06.12.08 | written by jilske | 1 Comment

It’s been a little over a year since I first stepped off a plane to meet the city of my dreams.
Seems time does not only fly, it travels at lightspeed these days. Aging should come with its own conversion chart:  “when older than 18 time passes exponentially”.  This also explains why at 25, you might feel like you’re already halfway.

Nevertheless I’ve learned a lot.  Along the way I’ve seen lots of Oz… Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Phillip Island, Fraser Island, Whitsunday Islands…
And there’s no underestimating the lessons you learn living on your own:

  1. value of sex = $40 for a massage with a happy ending
  2. value of the best coffee in the world = $3.90
  3. value of a new car = -2000$ the moment you drive it out of the garage
  4. value of being able to hold and hug the people you love = priceless

One of the reasons Sydney’s still getting used to being called home, is because she’s still missing a part of me.
Thankfully he will be here soon…
Happy birthday sweetie X
