Mary & Daniel {engaged in Bruges}

Do you have a place you vaguely remember visiting as a small child?

When you are little, every daytrip is an exciting journey to faraway unknown places. As you grow older, those memories fade, and I find myself longing to return to those places, yearning to relive those happy feelings and that sense of discovery.
It’s crazy to think I lived in Belgium for 26 years and somehow only made it to Bruges once, when I was 8 years old. But thanks to Mary and Daniel, I finally returned. And I get to take you, dear reader, on a brief tour through charming cobbled streets and across romantic bridges arched over scenic little canals. It is no wonder Bruges is often called ‘Venice of the North’, it truly is one of the most picturesque towns in Belgium and I was so happy to see my memories hadn’t tricked me!

To Mary and Daniel: thank you so much for inviting me, I am still amazed how we have this crazy Australian-Belgian-French-Mexican-Spanish connection and I can’t wait to visit Mexico again to document your wedding. Only 3 months to go!
